Description
The many intersecting curved surfaces on the body are artistic choices but also functional. Those overhangs make for a variety of firm hand-hold positions, which are crucial for a vessel that is frequently used in the kitchen, and potentially handled with wet or oily hands. The TV chef Alton Brown used to test cooking tools in the way they are all bound to be used eventually: with the non-dominant hand, oily, and after a glass of wine. I have put this design through that particular ringer. With a fully straight or rounded body there is no opportunity for leverage in non-ideal conditions.
